In my 12+ years as a certified athletic trainer, I have been fortunate to work in a wide variety of settings from youth to professional sports, and now in a non-traditional role, caring for patients in all stages of their return-to-activity journey. I am proud to work for an organization that values those experiences. Enovis' commitment to athletic trainers empowers me, and the profession as a whole, to continue to do great work in our communities by providing high quality healthcare everywhere. Happy National Athletic Training Month!

Athletic Trainer field representatives in the DME setting are essential to aiding patients in their recovery and return to activity through the education and use of functional and recovery braces/supports. As a support manager for our field team, I help train, encourage and grow ATC’s in their knowledge of DME as they support patients and athletes. I am proud to work with ATC’s that are growing their skill sets and providing care beyond the traditional settings. Happy National Athletic Training month to ATC’s everywhere, who are working to help patients and athletes get back to their loved activities!

It is important to be a part of an organization who sees athletic trainers as valuable members of their team. Enovis recognizes that athletic trainers are impactful in a variety of roles including sales, patient service, marketing, operations, and education.

Our job as athletic trainers is to protect, advocate for, and promote the overall health and safety of our patients/players. While that is our main role, it is extraordinarily fulfilling to help these players accomplish their goal (often a life-long goal) of playing in the National Football League. We see these people at the highest of highs and also the lowest of lows. Helping them navigate their journey as a professional athlete is part of what makes athletic training an incredible profession.

To be able to work for a company that values the education & value of AT’s is something I am proud of. The clinical expertise of the AT is what’s needed at Enovis, where one can be expected to provide healthcare to patients in a variety of settings. The athletic trainer is such a critical component of Enovis' mission of Creating Better Together.

Being an Athletic Trainer is so much more than sideline coverage. It's all of the hours put in off the field, in the clinic, in the industrial setting and in my case, working alongside other healthcare professionals to further the continuum of care with Enovis. DonJoy® helps shine light on the fact that Athletic Trainers truly provide healthcare everywhere.

I have had the pleasure to work with various schools, teams, and experience levels as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the traditional setting, however during that time I wanted to find a way to use my skills and be able to help and reach a broader group of people. Being a Certified Athletic trainer with Enovis has allowed me to do just that. Throughout my career with Enovis, I have had the opportunity to help so many people beyond the typical Athletic Trainer setting and Athletic Trainer job. I have been able to gain a different set of skills and knowledge that allows me to help every patient I come in contact with to the fullest. There is no question that being a part of the Athletic Trainer family in Enovis has allowed me to become a better healthcare professional. I am proud to be an Athletic Trainer and a member of Enovis.

I'm grateful to work for a company that values the education, knowledge, and skillset of an Athletic Trainer. Having worked in the college and secondary school settings I've seen directly how our products are able to help athletes. It's great to be able to provide that same service and care to patients [who may not be going back to collision sports] that now feel confident to get back to some of their favorite activities.

As a certified athletic trainer for 23 years and counting, this month is an exciting time to celebrate our profession. When I started my career, I knew I wanted be a healthcare professional and work with athletes combining both my passions. The first 15 years of my career were spent working in collegiate athletics. An opportunity arose to transition in a role with Enovis. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect fit looking back today. I’ve been able to continue work supporting the active population, utilizing skills I’ve developed and learned as an ATC, while growing professionally in new exciting ways. We have a big family of athletic trainers working at Enovis and I’m proud to work with them representing our profession. From all of us at Enovis we celebrate our athletic training colleagues, Happy National Athletic Training Month!!!

Working as a Certified Athletic Trainer for nearly 25 years in the traditional, clinical, industrial, corporate settings, and now Enovis, I can say with confidence that my career has been more fulfilling than I could have ever imagined. However, along the years the one thing that remained constant was the use and incorporation of DonJoy® products. The braces and supports I applied to my athletes and patients helped make my job both easier, me a better equipped Certified Athletic Trainer, not to mention help assist with injury recovery and secured prolonged safety and prevention to the individuals I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with. In short, of all the devices I’ve come in contact with, the DonJoy® Products have made me feel more comfortable and confident while working as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the amazing field of Sports Medicine.

Being an FSR/ATC is so rewarding! As a Certified Athletic Trainer in the FSR role, I use my experience and knowledge to “map” my patients in regards to their injury, functional movement, functional anatomy and restrictions. This helps me better assist my physicians and patient in brace selection and innovation in building custom braces. It also plays a critical role in the education and fitting of the brace for effective of use and patient satisfaction, particularly with my OA patients as we work to help find balance and function in the kinetic chain in regards to the offload property of the brace. At the core, we are all educators. It is important for me to be able to communicate how the brace is functionally assisting the patient in recovery and bridging the gap for return to activity.

Whether I was in 6th grade at Chowan Middle School, on the sidelines at Ole Miss, or working with a World War II Vet as a DonJoy® Rep... I have always known that I wanted to be an Athletic Trainer.

I enjoy being able to help patients of all ages, and all injury types along the spectrum. An Athletic Trainer’s unique knowledge base allows us to develop care plans with Doctors, ATs, PTs that are literally changing people’s lives. Keep fighting the good fight! Happy National Athletic Training Month!

Kacee Baker, LAT

As a DonJoy® Rep, I have the honor to work alongside many great Athletic Trainers in the clinic, school, sports and public service settings that are essential to healthcare in every sense of the word. I love being a resource for other Athletic Trainers and supporting them as they provide care to their patients and athletes.

National Athletic Training Month is a time to recognize health care professionals who wear many hats. Whether it is working as a certified athletic trainer with a division one football team, working as a physician extender, or working as a brace rep we all strive to provide the same championship healthcare to our patients. We have had to adapt during the pandemic and as athletic trainers have done over time, rise to the occasion and put patient-centered care first. As an athletic trainer working with a division one football team I could not deliver the highest level of healthcare without the help from our relationship with DJO®. By providing our athletes with the best bracing products we are able to prophylactically prevent them from being injured and allow them to return from injury safely by using custom and off the shelf braces. We also utilize the Intelect Mobile® 2 RPW to deliver a high level of care to our student athletes for acute and chronic injuries. Without the relationship that our athletic training staff has built with DJO we would not be able to deliver the best care to our patients. Its companies like DJO and Chattanooga® who help athletic trainers do their job more effectively.
