The ONLY Dual-Pivot Knee Implant That Replicates Natural Joint Motion

Dual-pivot Kinematics

The designers of the EMPOWR 3D Knee&reg were among the first to study the knee during early flexion, providing new insight into how the natural knee functions. The combination of this new knowledge with previous research of deep knee flexion led to a knee replacement design which provides inherent anterior-posterior knee stability and recreates the motion patterns of the natural knee.

More Natural Feeling Knee

The EMPOWR 3D Knee addresses natural motion throughout a full range of motion, from early to deep flexion, creating a more natural feeling knee for the patient. EMPOWR 3D Knee® patients had statistically significant less pain when walking compared to traditional non-conforming knees. These patients also participated in very active activities such as impact sports more regularly.4

Data-driven Design

Proven Results

Designed based on the success of the 3DKnee&reg, the EMPOWR 3D Knee&reg System leverages over 20 years of clinical success and a demonstrated history of natural kinematics.

Natural Pivot Articulation in 3D

Natural Pivot Articulation in 3 dimensions: Early Flexion, Mid Flexion and Deep Flexion.

10 degree flex

Early Flexion: The conforming lateral compartment of the EMPOWR 3D Knee allows for a lateral pivot in activities of early flexion, replicating natural knee motion during gait. The single radius of curvature ensures consistent soft tissue tension throughout flexion.

70 degree flex

Mid Flexion: The lateral compartment of the tibial insert is fully congruent with the femur up to 70 degrees. This combined with the 8mm anterior lip provides the patient with anterior-posterior stability and prevents paradoxical motion during mid flexion.2

120 degree flex

Deep Flexion: The articulation of the EMPOWR 3D Knee is less conforming in deep flexion, allowing the soft tissues to drive femoral rollback and natural medial pivot motion. The widened medial condyle encourages external rotation, similar to the natural knee, and aids in patellar tracking and quadriceps function during deep flexion.2
